Channeling Golden Books

I wanted this number two to be in a golden books style. Flash can't capture those nice brushy gradients, but I was happy with how it came out.

Also, Flash Cs4 has a pattern brush that makes patterns out of your symbols.

Trippy!

Flash Sketch

I've been trying out the newest version of Flash. Here's is a sketch I did last week.

This character will be in my upcoming film. Far from being final, but pretty close to how I see her looking.

Februrary Figure Drawing:

This is my first figure drawing session of the year. I hope to draw this model again. She was able to keep complicated poses, while staying eerily still.

I tried drawing with ink again. After a while, I went back to my trusty 'ol grease pen. Will try watercolor next time.

Reel version 2.3

I'm getting ready to do a major overhaul of my website, but finding the time has been difficult.

The last two years has given me some nice new clips to add to my reel. I can't wait 'till version 3.0 to show them off, so here is my late 2008 reel:

I was a better artist in the 1983

I lost it down the road, but age 6 appears to have been my peak at drawing. Special thanks goes out to my mom, who saved my old drawings from age 4 and up.

As you can see, I new grew out of my cartoon animal phase. I wish I could see other artists' childhood drawings. Something special in our drawing disappears when we get older.

Figure Drawing, Late 2008

Late 2008 has been a busy time if year: teaching, designing for websites, and directing. Sadly, my drawing has declined. To stay in shape, I have been drawing the figure whenever I can.

I tried using pen for these poses. Ink is pretty unforgiving stuff! I'm going to try this again.

More Vintage Items:

Why not top it off with gold tipped cigarettes? Celebre, the Distinguished Cigarette!

The box is in great condition, and opens up like a jewelry box. Inside is a protective foil, with a clear plastic window for looking in on these elegant cigarettes.

My great Aunt Lillian never finished the pack: they were too beautiful to smoke!
